Statement:
As an artist, I draw inspiration from many places. There isn’t a common theme that flows through my entire body of work, but rather, my work represents spiritual growth and artistic exploration. Having said that, I am very visually driven, and almost every piece of work posted here stems from some sort of memory or photographic reference, with the exception of the charcoal figures, which were all drawn from “life drawing” models.
When I paint or draw, the world stops in my mind and hours fly by like minutes. For me, art is about getting lost in the moments of the process and, hopefully, having something poetic to share with the rest of the world at the end of that process. I strive for art that combines elements of growth, nature, spirituality, experiences and places, expressive colors, materials and, last but not least, a different perspective.
When I work with pastels or charcoal, I am reminded how much I enjoy drawing because I can grab the medium and get my hands dirty! However, my favorite medium is oil paint. I love the vibrant colors and endless possibilities and challenges it offers.
I hope you enjoy my work. I have more to upload once I get some photos taken, so please check back from time to time. Thanks for stopping by!
